About Elektra ™ 

ELEKTRA is a fitness company based in Miami Florida and whose aim is to add fun back to exercise. Lot of people are intimidated by fitness, and especially see gym as a daunting or scary. So, Elektra believe that adding some fun colours and a bit of retro spunk can really change people´s mindset about fitness as a whole and motivate people to work out more.

 

 

Based on the above-mentioned information, the company tilth towards the 80s aerobics and fitness design style. We think that the aerobic take on fitness is an amazing way to make fitness more interesting for everyone. They also think it is important to make gym membership affordable for everyone.

 

When we think of the 80s aerobic design, we think of bright and colourful composition, geometric shapes, and patterns. The 80s aerobic design is also known for having bright, bold and heavy typefaces which easily gets the attention of the target audience or market.

Design Challenges And Solutions

Due to how Elektra has described their business plans, goals and what they expect to see. A design with fun colours, with a bit of retro spunk, their aim is to change people’s mind about gym with their brand.

 

 

Something with aerobics but not aerobics exercise, something that represents the 80s, but with modern gym style.

 

I had to do some brainstorming to come up with a design that suits the brand deliverable, and which will attract their target audience.

 

Selecting the colours that represent the 80s without the neon colour or glow effect.

Then I had to find fonts that meets their design look, feel, requirement, and that also stands out.

The Colour Palette

This colour palette is a representation of the 80s colours, and which was also used during the aerobic era of design. They are bright and vibrant colours.

 

Bright and vibrant colour is all about standing out and being bold at the same time and that is what Elektra portraits. They want to stand out from other gyms.

 

These colours represent power, royalty, tranquillity, happiness, and cheerfulness. This is what the brand wants to give its target market
