Ben’s Bakery Responsive Website Experience

The problem:

It is not uncommon for bakery websites and apps to have a slow delivery system, even for single or group orders. Many of these platforms do not provide the convenience of pre-ordering, tracking an order, or delivering it to your home or office. 

 

This can pose a challenge for individuals with busy schedules who frequently order from these bakery websites or apps. Such users often need to save time when placing and receiving their orders, and a slow delivery system can be a significant hindrance.

Process:

 

To better understand the best possible way to solve this problem, I had to brainstorm, come up with different ideas and pick the one that mostly solved this problem. Then I created a paper wireframe, and a site map, created a clickable digital wireframe, and conducted interviews and usability studies. From the information gathered, I synthesized several root solutions, and then created a persona, and a user journey map.

Mobile Version of the Responsive Website

This is a mobile version of our responsive website designed to ensure that our users have a consistent and enjoyable experience while using the Ben's Bakery app. This version also provides a seamless user experience and optimizes the website for search engines to help users find it easily.

I aim is to develop a sitemap that eliminates any potential distractions for users. Additionally, I want to assist website visitors, particularly search engines, in comprehending and efficiently navigating through the content. Lastly, I want to ensure that the content is easily discoverable.

Digital wireframe Screen Size variation

Easy navigation was a key need to address in the design in addition to equipping the website to work in with different screen sizes. And also, to ensure that the design is user-friendly and easy to use for all users.

Mockups

After conducting a usability study, I took the feedback received and implemented changes to enhance the order review page of the website. One of the changes I made was adding an option for users to edit the number of items in their cart through a delete item icon. This change offers more flexibility to users by simplifying the process of editing their cart, without requiring them to go through a complex process of adding or removing items.
